The brief
A digital asset manager for studios and in-house brand teams. Every image, mark, and token in one library, with usage rights, version history, and expiry dates attached to the file rather than buried in an email thread.
Brand teams lose assets in the same three places: a shared drive nobody prunes, a chat thread with the final-final file, and a designer's laptop. The expensive failure is not the lost file, it is shipping a photograph whose licence expired eight months ago.
The brief was a library where rights and versioning are first-class properties of an asset, presented in a way that creative people will actually use rather than route around.
Design decisions
Three choices that shaped everything else.

The artwork is the interface
Assets sit in a masonry grid on a near-black canvas at generous size, with filenames beneath rather than over them. A dark ground is not a style choice here: it stops the interface from tinting the colour judgement people are making about the work.

Rights are shown, not stored
Usage clearance is a lime chip at the top of the metadata rail with the expiry date directly under it, the first thing visible when an asset is opened. Making the licence loud is the entire product; a compliant asset manager nobody reads is just a slow drive.
(03)
Brand tokens live beside the files
Colour tokens carry their CSS variable name, and the type scale is shown as a live specimen with its line-height spec. Engineers get the values in the form they will paste, which is what stops a design system drifting the week after handoff.

- →Mixed tile types in one grid (photography, colour blocks, type specimens, vector marks) so a library looks like a brand rather than a folder
- →Every tile carries a 1px 8%-white ring, which keeps dark artwork from bleeding into the dark canvas
- →Lime (#c9f24d) is reserved for state that matters: cleared rights, current version, storage headroom
- →Metadata is a two-column key/value rail at 8.5px, aligned so values form a clean right edge
- →Collection dots use the collection's own brand colour, making the sidebar scannable without reading it
